Pala Manor is located in Banjuelunbu Village, Jiangre Township, Gyangzê County, Shigatse City, Tibet. It is the only completely preserved aristocratic manor from old Tibet and is known as a "microcosm of old Tibet." The manor was originally built in the seventeenth century and relocated to its current site in the 1930s. It features a multi-story main building with dozens of rooms, including a sutra hall, a mahjong parlor, a sunroom, and other luxurious spaces that display numerous cultural relics such as gold, silver, jade artifacts, and imported luxury goods. Its core value lies in its contrasting presentation of aristocratic life versus the conditions of serfs—across from the main building, the preserved original Langsheng courtyard (servants' dwellings) with its low, dimly lit rooms and torture implements authentically recreates the social structure of old Tibet. The manor has been listed as a National Key Cultural Heritage Protection Site, serving both historical research and patriotic education purposes, allowing visitors to gain a direct understanding of Tibetan society before democratic reforms.
