前往崗嘎鎮無需提前預約，但由於地處中尼邊境地區，務必在出發前於戶籍地或拉薩、日喀則等地的公安機關辦好有效的《邊境管理區通行證》。鎮區海拔約4500米，氣候多變，需備好氧氣瓶、高反藥物、防寒衣物及防曬用品。鎮上住宿和餐飲條件較為基礎，旺季建議提前聯繫確認。自駕需確保車輛狀況良好，部分道路為非鋪裝路面，謹慎駕駛。請尊重當地藏族風俗，不隨意拍攝當地居民和軍事設施。由於緊鄰國界線，請嚴格遵守邊防管理規定，不得擅自前往邊境禁區。

No advance reservation is required to visit Ganggar Town, but due to its location in the China-Nepal border area, travelers must obtain a valid "Border Area Travel Permit" from the public security authorities in their place of household registration or in cities like Lhasa or Shigatse before departure. The town is situated at an altitude of approximately 4,500 meters with variable weather conditions, so it is essential to prepare oxygen bottles, altitude sickness medication, warm clothing, and sun protection. Accommodation and dining options in the town are basic; it is advisable to confirm arrangements in advance during peak seasons. For self-driving trips, ensure the vehicle is in good condition, exercise caution on unpaved road sections, and drive carefully. Respect local Tibetan customs by refraining from photographing residents and military facilities without permission. Given its proximity to the national border, strictly adhere to border control regulations and do not venture into restricted border zones.

崗嘎鎮（舊稱「老定日」）位於西藏日喀則市定日縣西部，地處中尼邊境的喜馬拉雅山脈北麓，平均海拔約4500米，是通往珠穆朗瑪峯的重要驛站。鎮區坐落在開闊的河谷地帶，318國道穿鎮而過，向東連接定日縣城，向西通往聶拉木口岸。這裡以無遮擋的壯闊雪山觀景聞名，無需深入山區即可遠眺珠峯、卓奧友峯、洛子峯和馬卡魯峯四座8000米級雪峯同框的奇景。作為傳統的藏地農牧小鎮，當地保留著樸實的民風和獨特的邊境文化，同時也是徒步者和攝影師靜觀雪山日落的理想停留點。

Ganggar Town (formerly known as "Old Dingri") is located in the western part of Dingri County, Shigatse City, Tibet, on the northern slopes of the Himalayan Mountains along the China-Nepal border, with an average altitude of about 4,500 meters. It serves as an important stopover en route to Mount Everest. Situated in an open river valley, the town is traversed by National Highway 318, which connects eastward to Dingri County town and westward to the Nyalam Port. Renowned for its unobstructed and majestic views of snow-capped mountains, visitors can witness the extraordinary spectacle of four peaks over 8,000 meters—Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, and Makalu—framed together without venturing deep into the mountains. As a traditional Tibetan farming and herding town, it preserves a simple local culture and unique borderland atmosphere, making it an ideal resting point for trekkers and photographers to quietly observe sunset over the snow-capped peaks.
