Urumqi Railway Station (i.e., Urumqi Station) is the largest modern comprehensive railway transportation hub in Xinjiang. Located on Gaotie Beiliu Road, Toutunhe District, it commenced operations in 2016 with a total floor area of approximately 110,000 square meters. The station is the terminal of the Lanzhou-Xinjiang High-Speed Railway, integrating high-speed rail, conventional rail, and Urumqi urban rail transit (Metro Line 1), with a daily passenger capacity of up to 100,000 travelers. Designed with the concept of "Tianshan Snow Sea, Silk Road Pearl," the station features a wavy dome and glass curtain wall structure. Inside, the "Silk Road Pearl" service desk provides guidance in multiple languages, including Chinese, Uyghur, and English, and the station is equipped with smart travel systems such as facial recognition for entry and intelligent navigation. As a critical railway hub connecting inland China with Central Asia, it operates daily direct trains to major domestic cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, as well as international cities such as Almaty, serving as a key land gateway in the Belt and Road transportation network.
