The S101 BAIli Gallery is an open-access self-drive road that requires no bookings and is free to travel year-round. Important precautions for the journey: as an unenclosed mountain road with variable conditions, some sections feature winding paths with sharp turns and steep slopes, so drive cautiously—high-clearance vehicles are recommended. Gas stations and service points are scarce along the route; be sure to fill up in Changji or Urumqi before departure and pack sufficient food, water, and emergency supplies. Mountain weather is unpredictable: sun protection is essential in summer, and precautions against ice and snow are needed in winter—always check the weather forecast before setting out. Do not drive off-road into pastures or Danxia landform areas, and help protect the fragile ecosystem by taking all trash with you. Mobile phone signals are weak or absent in some sections, so it is advisable to download offline maps in advance and inform family or friends of your itinerary.

The S101 BAIli Gallery, also known as the "Tianshan Geographic Gallery," is a scenic road traversing the northern foothills of the Tianshan Mountains. Stretching from Urumqi in the east to Bayingou in Wusu City in the west, it connects iconic sites such as the Asian Continental Geographic Center, the Colorful Mountain Canyon, the Hundred-Mile Danxia Landforms, the Kangjiashimenzi Rock Paintings, the Kensiwate Reservoir, and the Anjihai Grand Canyon.
