夏爾西里是國家級自然保護區，並非普通旅遊景區，原則上不對外開放。若因科考、工作等特殊原因獲得批准進入，需嚴格遵守以下注意事項：​必須全程在批准的路線和區域內活動，嚴禁擅自進入未開放區域或脫離團隊行動。​​ 務必提前辦理邊防通行證，並主動接受邊防檢查站的檢查登記。由於地處邊境敏感地帶，​嚴格禁止使用無人機，也嚴禁對軍事設施、邊防哨所等非開放區域進行拍攝。​​ 保護區內生態環境極為原始脆弱，​嚴禁採摘任何植物、捕捉或驚擾野生動物，禁止留下任何垃圾。​​ 區域內有野生動物出沒（包括棕熊、狼等），需注意安全，保持距離。手機信號基本無覆蓋，需按團隊要求做好充分物資和應急準備。總之，務必以保護為先，嚴格遵守所有管理規定。

Xarxili is a national nature reserve, not a regular tourist destination, and is generally closed to the public. If you are granted special permission to enter for scientific research, work, or other official reasons, it is essential to strictly adhere to the following precautions: ​You must remain within the approved route and designated areas throughout your visit. Unauthorized entry into restricted zones or leaving the group is strictly prohibited.​​ It is mandatory to obtain a border pass in advance and proactively complete inspections and registration at border checkpoints. Due to the sensitive location near the border, ​the use of drones is strictly forbidden, and photography of non-public areas such as military installations and border posts is also prohibited.​​ The ecological environment within the reserve is extremely pristine and fragile; ​do not pick any plants, capture or disturb wildlife, and ensure that no trash is left behind.​​ The area is home to wild animals (including brown bears, wolves, etc.), so maintain a safe distance for your protection. There is virtually no mobile phone coverage, so adequate supplies and emergency preparations, as required by the team, are essential. In summary, prioritize conservation and strictly comply with all management regulations.

夏爾西里（亦稱夏爾西里自然保護區）是位於中國新疆維吾爾自治區博爾塔拉蒙古自治州境內的國家級自然保護區，地處中國與哈薩克斯坦邊境的偏遠高山地帶，總面積約314平方公里。這裡因其獨特的自然地理特徵而被稱為「中國的最後淨土」，核心特點包括：生態系統原始完整，是雪嶺雲杉、天山雪蓮等稀有植物的原生地，也是北山羊、雪豹、棕熊等多種稀有野生動物的棲息地；生物多樣性極其豐富，匯集了荒漠、草原、森林、高山草甸、冰川等多種垂直自然帶景觀；同時作為中哈邊境爭議區回歸後的生態恢復典範，具有重要的生態屏障與科研價值。由於生態極端脆弱且地處邊境敏感區，該區域不對外開放旅遊，僅允許經嚴格審批的科研考察活動進入，是新疆乃至中國西部自然保護區的核心瑰寶。

Xarxili (also known as the Xarxili Nature Reserve) is a national-level nature reserve located in the remote mountainous border area between China and Kazakhstan, within the Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Covering an area of approximately 314 square kilometers, it is often referred to as "China’s Last Pure Land" due to its unique natural and geographical features. Its core characteristics include: a pristine and intact ecosystem, serving as the native habitat for rare plant species such as Picea schrenkiana and Saussurea involucrata, as well as endangered wildlife like the Siberian ibex, snow leopard, and brown bear; exceptionally rich biodiversity, featuring diverse vertical natural zones such as deserts, grasslands, forests, alpine meadows, and glaciers; and significant ecological and scientific value as a model of ecological restoration following the resolution of Sino-Kazakh border disputes. Due to its extreme ecological fragility and sensitive location in a border area, the reserve is closed to tourism and only accessible for strictly approved scientific research activities. It stands as a core gem among nature reserves in Xinjiang and western China.
