Before visiting the Bayanbulak Grassland, please note the following booking guidelines and important notices. Regarding bookings, the Bayanbulak scenic area implements a real-name ticketing system. It is recommended that you purchase entrance tickets and shuttle bus tickets (usually a combined ticket) in advance through online platforms such as the official "Bayanbulak Tourism" WeChat public account, Ctrip, Meituan, or other official partner channels. Especially during the peak tourist season from July to August and national holidays like National Day, booking 1-3 days in advance can help avoid long queues or ticket shortages. If you plan to stay overnight in Bayanbulak Town within the grassland area, particularly during peak season, be sure to book your hotel or Mongolian yurt accommodation well in advance and confirm its specific location, heating, and sanitary conditions. Regarding important notices for your visit, please pay close attention to the following points: First, Transportation and Entry. The scenic area is vast. Private vehicles are not allowed in the core grassland area. Visitors must transfer to the designated shuttle buses at the Tourist Center. The bus journey is quite long (round trip takes about 2 hours), so please allocate sufficient time. Be sure to carry the original, valid photo ID used for purchasing the tickets for inspection. Second, Climate and Gear. The grassland is at an altitude of approximately 2,500 meters, classified as a high-cold region with highly changeable weather and extreme temperature differences between day and night. Even in summer, sun protection is needed during the day, while thick, warm clothing such as down jackets, fleece, hats, and scarves are essential for evenings and nights. Always carry rain gear and wear comfortable, non-slip hiking shoes. Third, Safety and Health. The walkways and viewing platforms within the scenic area are at relatively high elevations. Do not run, play roughly, or climb over guardrails; be mindful of your footing. At high altitudes, avoid strenuous exercise to prevent altitude sickness. Do not wander off designated routes into deep grassland or marshy wetlands to avoid getting lost or encountering danger. Fourth, Ecology and Environmental Protection. Bayanbulak is a National Nature Reserve. Consciously protect the environment: do not trample on the grasslands, pick flowers or plants, or litter, especially by discarding any items into the Kaidu River or other water bodies. Observe wildlife (such as swans) from a safe distance with respect; it is strictly forbidden to scare, feed, or chase them. Fifth, Culture and Etiquette. The area is primarily inhabited by Mongolians. Please respect the East-Return (Torgut) culture and the local herders' way of life. Do not take close-up photos of local residents, their livestock, or private property without permission. Sixth, Timing and Sightseeing. If you plan to photograph the famous "Nine Bends and Eighteen Turns" sunset (the best viewing point is the Basilik Viewing Platform), be sure to arrive at the platform as early as possible in the afternoon to secure a good spot. Check the sunset time in advance and calculate the departure time for the last return shuttle bus (usually within about an hour around sunset) to avoid missing it. Dining options within the scenic area are limited and can be expensive, so it is advisable to bring some high-energy snacks and drinking water.

巴音布魯克草原位於中國新疆維吾爾自治區巴音郭楞蒙古自治州和靜縣西北部，雄踞於天山山脈中部的尤爾都斯山間盆地，平均海拔約2500米，總面積約2.3萬平方公里，是中國第二大草原和最大的高山草原，也是國家5A級旅遊景區。其核心魅力在於「水草豐美的生態畫卷」與「蕩氣迴腸的東歸史詩」的完美融合。草原被終年積雪的天山雪峰環抱，開都河（《西遊記》中傳說的「通天河」）在此蜿蜒流淌，形成了著名的「九曲十八彎」絕景，在巴西里克觀景台，日落時分常能看到河面倒映出多個太陽的奇幻景象。這裡還是中國第一個天鵝自然保護區——巴音布魯克天鵝湖的所在地，每年春夏之際，數以千計的大天鵝、小天鵝、疣鼻天鵝在此棲息繁衍，與草原、雪山共同構成和諧的生靈畫卷。歷史上，這片草原是清代土爾扈特部在首領渥巴錫率領下歷經艱險、從伏爾加河流域東歸祖國後的主要定居地，承載著深厚的愛國主義情懷和獨特的蒙古族遊牧文化。夏季的巴音布魯克綠草如茵，野花遍地，牛羊成群；秋季則被染成一片金黃，靜謐而壯闊。遊覽此地需在遊客中心換乘區間車，沿途可欣賞遼闊的草原濕地景觀，最終抵達核心觀景點。因其高海拔的地理位置，氣候多變，晝夜溫差極大，遊覽時需做好充分禦寒準備。

The Bayanbulak Grassland is located in the northwest of Hejing County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Nestled in the Yuldus Basin in the central Tianshan Mountains, with an average altitude of about 2,500 meters and a total area of approximately 23,000 square kilometers, it is China's second-largest grassland and the largest alpine grassland, as well as a National AAAAA Tourist Attraction. Its core appeal lies in the perfect fusion of an "ecological panorama of lush water and grasslands" with an "epic history of the Eastward Return." Surrounded by the perpetually snow-capped peaks of the Tianshan Mountains, the Kaidu River (legendarily known as the "Tongtian River" in Journey to the West) meanders through the grassland, creating the famous spectacle of the "Nine Bends and Eighteen Turns." From the Basilik Viewing Platform, it's common to witness the magical sight of multiple suns reflected on the river's surface at sunset. This area is also home to China's first swan nature reserve, the Bayanbulak Swan Lake. Every spring and summer, thousands of whooper swans, tundra swans, and mute swans inhabit and breed here, forming a harmonious picture of life together with the grasslands and snowy mountains. Historically, this grassland was the main settlement area for the Torgut tribe of the Mongols after their arduous eastward return to the motherland from the Volga River basin under the leadership of their chief, Ubashi, during the Qing Dynasty, embodying profound patriotic sentiment and unique Mongolian nomadic culture. In summer, Bayanbulak is a carpet of green grass dotted with wildflowers and grazing livestock; in autumn, it transforms into a vast expanse of golden yellow, serene and magnificent. Visiting requires transferring to shuttle buses at the tourist center, offering views of the expansive grassland wetland scenery along the way to the core viewpoints. Due to its high-altitude location, the climate is highly variable with extreme day-night temperature differences, necessitating thorough preparation for cold weather during a visit.
