This permit can be applied for using your valid personal ID at local public security organs, border inspection stations, or designated tourist service centers (e.g., within the Kanas Scenic Area) after entering the Altay region. If you plan to drive there, be sure to check the latest vehicle access regulations through official platforms like the "Kanas Scenic Area" or local traffic authorities before departure. Some border roads may have special requirements regarding vehicle type, timing, or require advance registration. Due to the remote location, mobile and internet signals can be unreliable; it is advisable to download offline maps in advance. Regarding important notices for your visit, please strictly comply with the following: ​First, Documents and Border Security.​​ Always carry and safeguard all valid documents, including your ​ID card and Border Area Travel Permit, and cooperate fully with border guard inspections throughout your visit. ​Second, Safety and Designated Areas.​​ Stay within the designated viewing platforms and safe zones. It is ​strictly forbidden to cross, approach, or interact with​ border security lines, fences, boundary markers, or any other border facilities in any way. ​Absolutely prohibit​ entering the river channel, climbing cliffs, shouting across the border, throwing objects, or using drones—any behavior that could be misinterpreted. The canyon terrain is treacherous; do not risk approaching edges for photos. ​Third, Climate and Gear.​​ Weather in the border mountains changes rapidly, with extreme day-night temperature differences and strong UV radiation. Be sure to bring warm jackets, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and comfortable hiking shoes. ​Fourth, Environmental Protection and Culture.​​ Take all your trash with you and do not damage vegetation or the landscape. 中哈邊境大峽谷（也稱鐵列克提大峽谷）位於中國新疆阿勒泰地區哈巴河縣與布爾津縣交界處，地處中國與哈薩克斯坦邊境線上，以阿克哈巴河（白哈巴河）為界河。峽谷內最顯著的特點是兩岸地貌的鮮明對比：中國一側山嶺鬱鬱蔥蔥，遍佈茂密森林（尤其是白樺林），而哈薩克斯坦一側則多呈現荒涼景象。秋季（九月中下旬至十月初）是峽谷最美的季節，河谷中的白樺林一片金黃，與碧綠的河水、皚皚雪山構成一幅色彩斑斕的油畫，景色壯麗。峽谷內設有觀景台，可俯瞰整個峽谷風光，遠眺哈薩克斯坦的雪山草場及邊防瞭望塔，著名的中哈邊界五號界碑也坐落於此。該峽谷是前往白哈巴村的必經之地，距離村莊約十一公里，通常可免費參觀，但需提前辦理邊境通行證。

The China-Kazakhstan Border Grand Canyon (also known as Tielieketi Grand Canyon) is situated at the border between Habahe County and Burqin County in the Altay Prefecture of China's Xinjiang, right on the border between China and Kazakhstan, with the Akehaba River (Baihaba River) serving as the boundary river. The most striking feature of the canyon is the stark contrast between its two sides: the Chinese side is lush with dense forests (especially birch forests), while the Kazakh side often appears barren. Autumn (mid-to-late September to early October) is the most beautiful season, when the birch forests in the river valley turn golden, creating a spectacular colorful picture together with the turquoise river and snow-capped mountains. Viewing platforms are set up in the canyon for overlooking the entire landscape, offering distant views of the snow mountains, grasslands, and border lookout towers in Kazakhstan. The famous China-Kazakhstan Border Marker No. 5 is also located here. The canyon is a must-pass route on the way to Baihaba Village, approximately eleven kilometers from the village. It is generally free to visit, but a border permit is required in advance.
