To visit Baihaba Village, you must apply for a Border Defense Permit in advance (mainland Chinese tourists can apply at the public security authorities in Hababe County or Burqin County) and purchase a ticket for the Kanas Scenic Area. During your visit, always carry your ID card and Border Defense Permit for inspection. Respect the customs of the Tuwa people in the village; do not photograph villagers or indoor scenes without permission. The use of drones is prohibited, and it is strictly forbidden to approach, photograph, or cross border fences or military facilities. Accommodation in the village is relatively basic, so it is advisable to book in advance and bring your own personal toiletries. Temperature fluctuations between day and night are significant; even in summer, warm clothing is necessary. Please take your trash to designated collection points to help preserve the原始 ecological environment of this ancient border village.
Baihaba Village is located in Tieliekti Township, Hababe County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang, approximately 1.5 kilometers from the border between China and Kazakhstan, known as the "First Village in Northwest China." Situated at an average altitude of about 1,200 meters, it is one of the three major Tuwa settlements in China, preserving complete traditional Tuwa log-cabin architecture and an原始 nomadic way of life. Autumn is the most beautiful season here, with golden birch forests, dark green pine forests, and red-roofed wooden houses complementing each other, while morning mist and炊烟 intertwine to create a serene pastoral scene. The village features border markers such as the "Northwest First Sentry Post," and visitors must enter with a Border Defense Permit. It is not only a paradise for photography enthusiasts but also a unique destination to experience Tuwa culture and feel the ambiance of the China-Kazakhstan border.
