Agonggaiti Grassland is situated in Burqin County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang, alongside the S232 Provincial Highway approximately 96 kilometers from Burqin Town to the Kanas Scenic Area. Its name, derived from Mongolian, means "the sunlit land". As a significant cradle of nomadic civilization in the Altay region, it preserves the most concentrated cluster of grassland stone figures in China, with some relics dating back three thousand years, earning it the title of "ancient cultural cradle". The grassland has been developed into a cultural park integrating natural scenery and human experiences, where visitors can enjoy Kazakh ethnic song and dance performances, savor traditional cuisine, participate in folk activities such as horseback riding and archery, or engage in nomadic skills like cheese-making. With its flat, expansive terrain surrounded by rolling mountains, the grassland turns lush green in summer, dotted with grazing cattle and sheep. The sunrise scene, when golden light blankets the land, is particularly magnificent. It serves as a comprehensive destination along the Kanas travel route, combining historical exploration, ethnic culture, and alpine meadow landscapes.
