The Lazikou Historical Site is located in Lazizang Township, northeastern part of Diebu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province. It was the critical battlefield of the "Lazikou Campaign" in September 1935 during the Red Army's Long March. Serving as the "throat" of the ancient Gansu-Sichuan route, the site features extremely treacherous terrain—the pass is only about 30 meters wide, flanked by towering cliffs, with the turbulent Lazikou River flowing through. It has long been known as "a narrow pass where one man can hold off ten thousand." By employing a combination of frontal assaults and flanking maneuvers, the Red Army broke through the Nationalist army's defenses after fierce fighting, opening the path north to Shaanxi and Gansu. This victory became a pivotal moment in the history of the Long March. Today, the site includes the Lazikou Campaign Monument and a memorial hall. It has been designated as a National Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit, a National Patriotic Education Demonstration Base, and is listed among China's classic red tourism sites, serving as an important destination for recalling revolutionary history and experiencing the spirit of the Long March.
