Labuleng Monastery is located in Xiahe County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province. As one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, it was founded in 1709 during the Qing Dynasty and is renowned as the "World Tibetan Studies Center." The monastery faces south and covers an area of 866,000 square meters. It comprises six colleges, 16 Buddha halls, 18 living Buddha residences, and over ten thousand monks' quarters, featuring the world's longest corridor of prayer wheels. Its architecture blends Tibetan and Han styles, primarily using stone and wood, and follows the distinctive principle of "no wood visible outside, no stone visible inside." The red, white, and yellow exterior walls contrast with the glided bronze tiles and golden roofs. The monastery houses more than 10,000 cultural relics, including gilded Buddha statues, thangkas, ritual objects, and ancient texts. It hosts grand religious events annually, such as the Great Prayer Festival in the first lunar month, serving as the religious and cultural heart of the Gannan region.
