前往山丹軍馬場前，請注意其非標準化景區屬性。該場區全天開放，無需提前預約門票，但核心的騎馬、馬車觀光等體驗項目及住宿需通過馬場官方接待點或合作旅行社現場預訂。由於地域遼闊且部分為牧區，自駕遊覽時請嚴格按主幹道行駛，切勿擅自駛入草場或馬群。遊玩時務必注意：騎馬活動必須由專業牧工牽引指導，嚴禁私自靠近或驚擾馬群；場區晝夜溫差極大，夏季也需準備防風外套、防曬用品及足夠的飲用水；尊重牧區生態，禁止隨意丟棄垃圾、採摘花草；如計劃觀看「萬馬奔騰」場景或深入非遊客常規區域（如窟窿峽），請務必提前向馬場管理部門諮詢開放情況與安全須知。

Before visiting the Shandan Horse Ranch, please note that it is not a standardized tourist attraction. The ranch area is open 24 hours a day, and no advance ticket reservation is required. However, core experience activities such as horseback riding, carriage tours, and accommodations must be booked on-site through the ranch’s official reception points or cooperating travel agencies. Due to the vast terrain, parts of which are grazing areas, please strictly follow main roads when driving and do not enter pastures or approach horse herds without authorization. During your visit, it is essential to note: horseback riding activities must be guided and assisted by professional herders; approaching or disturbing horse herds on your own is strictly prohibited. Temperature variations between day and night are extreme, so even in summer, prepare windproof jackets, sun protection, and sufficient drinking water. Respect the pastoral ecology—do not litter or pick flowers and plants. If you plan to witness the "Ten Thousand Horses Galloping" spectacle or venture into non-regular tourist areas (such as Kulong Gorge), be sure to inquire in advance with the ranch management about accessibility and safety guidelines.

山丹軍馬場位於甘肅省張掖市山丹縣大馬營草原，祁連山與焉支山之間的河谷地帶，是世界上歷史最悠久、亞洲規模最大的軍馬繁殖基地，由西漢名將霍去病於公元前121年始創，延續至今已有超過2100年的養馬歷史。其核心區域佔地約330萬畝，集廣袤的高山草原、濕地峽谷（如窟窿峽）、雪山河流（西大河流域）與深厚的歷史文化於一體，形成了「萬馬奔騰」的壯麗生態畫卷。場區不僅保留了傳統的牧馬生產方式和優良馬種「山丹馬」，還發展成為融合草原觀光、騎馬體驗、軍事文旅與生態保護於一體的綜合性特色旅遊區，被譽為「絲路綠寶石」和「活著的馬文化博物館」。

The Shandan Army Horse Ranch is located in the Damaying Grasslands of Shandan County, Zhangye City, Gansu Province, situated in the river valley between the Qilian Mountains and the Yanchi Mountains. Established in 121 BC by the renowned Western Han Dynasty general Huo Qubing, it is the world's oldest and Asia's largest army horse breeding base, boasting a history of over 2,100 years in horse husbandry. Its core area spans approximately 3.3 million acres, integrating vast alpine grasslands, wetland canyons (such as Kulong Gorge), snow-capped mountains, rivers (the Xidahu River basin), and profound historical culture, creating a magnificent ecological panorama often described as "Ten Thousand Horses Galloping." The ranch not only preserves traditional horse herding practices and the fine horse breed "Shandan Horse" but has also evolved into a comprehensive distinctive tourism zone that blends grassland sightseeing, horseback riding experiences, military cultural tourism, and ecological conservation, acclaimed as the "Green Gem of the Silk Road" and a "living museum of equestrian culture."
