張掖大佛寺位於甘肅省張掖市甘州區民主西街大佛寺巷，始建於西夏永安元年，是全國現存規模最大、保存最完整的西夏皇家寺院，也是全國重點文物保護單位和國家AAAA級旅遊景區。寺內核心景觀為亞洲最大的室內木胎泥塑臥佛——釋迦牟尼涅槃像，身長三十四點五米，肩寬七點五米，周圍環立十大弟子、十八羅漢等彩塑，保留了西夏藝術的原貌。此外，寺內珍藏明英宗敕賜的《大明三藏聖教北藏》佛經、金銀粉書寫的《大般若波羅蜜多經》等萬餘件文物，尤以比《西遊記》成書早約二百年的《西遊記》題材壁畫聞名。大佛寺融合了漢、西夏、藏傳佛教文化，是絲綢之路上的重要宗教與藝術遺產，近年更通過數字化技術實現文物永久保存與活態傳承。

Zhangye Giant Buddha Temple is located in the Giant Buddha Temple Lane, Minzhu West Street, Ganzhou District, Zhangye City, Gansu Province. Originally built in the first year of Yong'an of the Western Xia Dynasty, it is the largest and most completely preserved extant Royal Temple of the Western Xia regime, and is designated as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a National AAAA Tourist Attraction. Its core attraction is Asia's largest indoor wood-clay sculpture of the reclining Buddha — Sakyamuni's Nirvana statue, which is thirty-four point five meters long and seven point five meters wide at the shoulder, surrounded by colorful sculptures of his ten principal disciples and eighteen arhats, retaining the original artistic style of the Western Xia period. Additionally, the temple houses over ten thousand precious cultural relics, including the Ming Dynasty Emperor Yingzong's bestowed "Beizang" Buddhist scriptures and gold-and-silver-powder-written "Mahaprajnaparamita Sutra". It is particularly renowned for its Journey to the West-themed murals, which predate the novel itself by approximately two hundred years. Integrating Han, Western Xia, and Tibetan Buddhist cultures, the temple stands as a significant religious and artistic heritage site along the Silk Road, and has recently employed digital technology for the permanent preservation and dynamic传承 of its cultural relics.
