Shadruling Monastery (also known as Drupob Shadruling) is a Gelug school Tibetan Buddhist temple situated on Gongrigabu Mountain in Gangdoi Town, Gongga County, Shannan City, Tibet. Founded in the early 14th century by Lobsang Zhaba Living Buddha, it reached its peak during the Fifth Dalai Lama's era. Its Tibetan name "Shadruling" means "a place for teaching and practice," renowned for its Buddhist debate activities. The monastery's most precious sacred object is Tibet's only thousand-year-old body of a dakini, believed to be a young girl's physical body that has remained incorruptible for millennia, considered an embodiment of Palden Lhamo. The temple buildings are constructed into the mountainside, earning it the nickname "Little Potala," and offer spectacular views of the Yarlung Tsangpo River. As an important ancestral monastery of the Gelug school, it is not only a religious sanctuary but also a unique site blending history, culture, and natural beauty.
