Taolai River Canyon is a natural canyon situated within the First Beacon Tower of the Great Wall scenic area in Jiayuguan. Formed over millions of years by the erosive force of the Taolai River, it is a unique landform carved by meltwater from the Qilian Mountains glaciers across the Gobi desert. The canyon reaches depths of up to a hundred meters, with sheer, vertical cliffs on both sides.
