Xiao Qaidam Lake is a freely accessible natural landscape that requires no reservation or entrance ticket. During your visit, please be aware that there are no tourist facilities by the lake (such as shops, restrooms, or first aid stations), so you must bring sufficient drinking water, food, and emergency supplies; park your vehicle completely off the road in a safe area to avoid obstructing traffic; the lake water depth varies, and some shorelines consist of soft saline-alkali soil—do not enter the water or approach the edge recklessly to prevent getting stuck or accidents; as it is located on a high-altitude戈壁 with intense UV radiation and changeable weather, ensure you take sun protection, windproof, and保暖 measures; please consciously take all trash with you to protect the fragile ecological environment of the lake area; in recent years, due to climate change, the lake area has expanded and may inundate some original roads, so it is advisable to check the latest road conditions before departure.
小柴旦湖位於青海省海西蒙古族藏族自治州大柴旦鎮境內，緊鄰G315國道與柳格高速交匯處，是一座地處柴達木盆地北緣的高原內陸鹽湖。湖面面積約69平方公里，海拔約3148米，因湖水中富含礦物質，在陽光照射下呈現深淺不一的藍綠色，猶如鑲嵌在戈壁中的寶石。與開發成熟的大柴旦翡翠湖相比，小柴旦湖保留了更原始的自然風貌——湖岸線曲折延伸，水色隨光影變幻，遠處雪山與近處赭紅山巒倒映其中，形成靜謐而遼闊的畫卷。近年來，受益於氣候暖濕化影響，湖面面積有所擴張，水草豐茂處常吸引水鳥棲息，為這片蒼茫的鹽鹼地增添了幾分生機。作為青甘大環線自駕途中一處免費而低調的停靠點，小柴旦湖以其未經雕琢的純淨之美，成為旅人邂逅柴達木盆地最本真容顏的窗口。
Xiao Qaidam Lake is located within Da Qaidam Town, Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, adjacent to the intersection of the G315 National Highway and the Liuge Expressway. It is an inland saltwater lake situated on the northern edge of the Qaidam Basin on the plateau. The lake surface covers an area of approximately 69 square kilometers at an altitude of about 3,148 meters. Rich in minerals, its waters display varying shades of blue and green under sunlight, like a gemstone embedded in the戈壁. Compared to the developed Da Qaidam Emerald Lake, Xiao Qaidam Lake retains a more pristine natural landscape—its蜿蜒 shoreline extends with water colors shifting with light and shadow, reflecting distant snow-capped mountains and nearby reddish-brown hills, creating a serene and expansive panorama. In recent years, benefiting from the warming and humidifying climate, the lake's surface area has expanded, with lush aquatic vegetation attracting waterbirds and adding vitality to this vast saline-alkali land.
