The Wuji Longfeng Palace (also known as the West Queen Mother Temple) is situated approximately 110 kilometers southwest of Golmud City in Qinghai Province, alongside the Qinghai-Tibet Highway (G109) at an altitude of 3,800 meters in the Kunlun Mountains, renowned as "the world's highest-altitude Taoist temple." Its name derives from the Chinese symbolism of "descendants of the dragon and phoenix." The main hall enshrines the Three Holy Mothers—Xi Wangmu (Queen Mother of the West), Jiutian Xuannü, and Jinsheng Laomu—while also incorporating Buddhist elements, such as statues of Sakyamuni and the 10th Panchen Lama, reflecting a blend of diverse religious cultures. The architectural complex is characterized by its Tai Chi Bagua layout. The two-story main hall, adorned with golden tiles and upturned eaves, houses the Five Mother Goddesses on the first floor and the Taoist Three Pure Ones and the Jade Emperor on the second floor. The square in front of the hall features a statue of Jiang Ziya and his mount, the "Four Not Alikes," as legend holds this to be the site where Jiang Ziya achieved enlightenment. As a core attraction of the Kunlun Mountain Taoist Cultural Tourism Zone, Wuji Longfeng Palace serves not only as a pilgrimage site for Taoist followers but also stands as a unique landmark along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, where myth, nature, and culture converge amidst snow-capped mountains and echoing temple bells.
