格爾木市作為青藏高原的門戶城市，本身無需門票或預約，但周邊眾多景點（如崑崙山口、鹽湖等）各有獨立管理規定。旅行時需注意：格爾木海拔約2800米，初到應避免劇烈活動以防高反；晝夜溫差極大，需備足防風防寒衣物。前往可可西里、玉珠峰等特殊區域需提前辦理邊防證並聯繫合規旅行社組團進入。自駕遊需確保車況良好，備足物資，部分道路（如青藏公路）常有大型貨車，需謹慎駕駛。此外，當地氣候乾燥，需加強防曬保濕，並尊重藏族、蒙古族等少數民族風俗習慣。

As a gateway city to the Tibetan Plateau, Golmud itself does not require entrance tickets or reservations. However, many surrounding attractions (such as Kunlun Pass, salt lakes, etc.) have their own independent regulations. When traveling, please note: Golmud is located at an altitude of approximately 2,800 meters. Upon arrival, avoid strenuous activities to prevent altitude sickness. The temperature difference between day and night is extreme, so prepare sufficient windproof and warm clothing. Travel to special areas like Hoh Xil and Yuzhu Peak requires obtaining a ​Border Permit​ in advance and joining organized tours with licensed travel agencies. For self-driving tours, ensure your vehicle is in good condition and carry ample supplies. Exercise caution on certain roads (such as the Qinghai-Tibet Highway), which frequently have large trucks. Additionally, the local climate is dry, so sun protection and hydration are essential, and always respect the customs and traditions of ethnic minorities such as Tibetans and Mongolians.
