Tourism in Da Qaidam Town is primarily self-driving oriented. Please note the following: The town is a crucial accommodation and supply hub. During the peak season (June-September), accommodations are extremely tight, so ​it is essential to book your hotel or guesthouse well in advance. Facilities in the town are limited; it is advisable to bring an adequate supply of common medicines and personal essentials. Before setting off on your self-drive trip, ensure your vehicle is in good condition, fill up the fuel tank, and plan your routes to surrounding attractions (such as Emerald Lake, Red Cliffs, U-shaped公路, Water Ya丹, etc.) in advance. The local altitude is approximately 3,100 meters, so precautions against cold, sun protection, and prevention of altitude reaction are necessary. Finally, please respect local customs and consciously help preserve the plateau's ecological environment.
