Chaka Town itself is an open tourist town that requires no entrance fees or reservations. However, it is advisable to book accommodations, dining, and transportation services to the core scenic area of Chaka Salt Lake in advance. Please note during your visit: hotels and restaurants in town tend to be busy during the peak tourist season (May-October), so booking ahead through reliable platforms and confirming check-in times is recommended; tickets to Chaka Salt Lake must be purchased separately, so plan your itinerary accordingly; banking and medical services in town are limited, so ensure you carry sufficient cash and common medications; the local altitude is around 3,000 meters—protect yourself from sun exposure, cold weather, and avoid strenuous activities; respect the local customs of the multi-ethnic community, including Han Chinese, Mongolians, and Tibetans; drivers should park orderly and avoid blocking main roads; lastly, please maintain cleanliness and support local ecological conservation efforts.

Chaka Town is situated in the eastern part of Ulan County, Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, and is home to the world-famous "Mirror of the Sky," Chaka Salt Lake. This high-altitude town, perched at around three thousand meters above sea level, has historically served as the central mining and distribution hub for "Chaka salt," boasting a long-standing tradition of salt production and industrial heritage. Despite its compact size, the town integrates tourism services, ethnic interaction, and cultural presentation, offering complete basic infrastructure to provide accommodation, dining, and transportation connections for visitors.
