Yanglong Township (formerly Yeniugou Township) is an open pastoral area with no entrance fee or reservation required. When visiting, please note: it is a high-altitude pastoral region—respect the local herders' livelihood and pastures, and do not enter private grazing lands or disturb livestock without permission. Summer (June-August) is the best time to visit, but temperature differences between day and night are extreme, so pack sufficient cold-weather clothing. The township has limited tourist facilities, so it is advisable to bring necessary supplies. Drive only on main roads, as some routes are gravel surfaces—exercise caution. Additionally, please protect the environment and take all trash with you.
Yanglong Township (formerly Yeniugou Township) is located in the westernmost part of Qilian County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. Situated in the western section of the Qilian Mountains and upstream of the Heihe River, with an average altitude of about 3,500 meters, it is a multi-ethnic pastoral township primarily inhabited by Tibetans and Mongols. Historically serving as a vital transportation link between Qinghai and Gansu, the area preserves both the simplicity of nomadic culture and traces of the Silk Road, while its location within the ecological buffer zone of the Qilian Mountain National Park adds to its pristine tranquility. In summer, the grasslands turn lush and scattered herds of cattle and sheep can be seen, making it suitable for experiencing pastoral life—though visitors should be prepared for high altitude, significant temperature variations, and limited tourist infrastructure.
