Payang Town is located in the eastern part of Zhongba County, Xigazê City, Tibet Autonomous Region, situated at the strategic junction of the southern Ali route and the Xinjiang-Tibet Highway, with an average altitude of approximately 4,600 meters. It is a typical high-altitude nomadic township in the source region of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, featuring vast golden meadows, meandering rivers, and scattered wetlands, renowned as a vital outpost along the "wildlife corridor." Though modest in size, the town plays a crucial role in transportation and logistics support.
