Gama Valley requires no reservation for general visits, but if you wish to experience Thangka painting or stay in unique local lodgings, it is advisable to contact the workshops or accommodations in advance. Major attractions within the valley are free to enter, though some handicraft workshops may charge for materials. As the area is situated at an altitude of approximately 3,800 meters, gradual acclimatization to the high elevation is recommended, and warm clothing should be prepared. Maintain quietness when visiting temples and workshops, and refrain from photographing artisans or religious objects without permission. Roads in the area are mostly rural; a vehicle with higher ground clearance is suggested. Respect local customs and avoid touching unfinished Thangka works or forging tools without authorization.

Gama Valley (also known as Kama Valley) is situated between Tingri and Tingkye Counties in Tibet, forming a deep gorge on the eastern slopes of Mount Everest with an altitude ranging from two thousand to over five thousand meters. It is acclaimed as the "Most Beautiful Valley in the World." The valley preserves the largest primeval forest in the Everest region, hosting rare plants such as rhododendrons and gentians, and providing habitat for wildlife including snow leopards and blue sheep, thus forming a complete vertical ecosystem. Renowned for trekking adventures, it offers simultaneous views of three eight-thousand-meter peaks—Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu—from the eastern perspective. The entire journey requires yaks to carry supplies, with the optimal visiting period from May to October. Hikers must traverse high-altitude passes like Xiao Wula and Langmala, which exceed five thousand meters, making it one of the world’s premier hiking routes.
