Lake Manasarovar is currently designated as a National 4A-level tourist attraction, requiring no online reservation. Visitors can go directly to the site, but it is advisable to confirm the daily opening hours (generally from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM) and ticketing policy (which may be either free admission or require ticket purchase) before setting off. The lake is located in Burang County, Ngari, Tibet, at an elevation of 4,588 meters, near the sacred Mount Kailash. Travelers need to obtain a Border Permit in advance. Due to the high altitude, precautions against altitude sickness are essential—avoid vigorous activity and prepare oxygen supplies, warm clothing, and sun protection. As a major religious holy lake, please respect local customs: walk clockwise around the lake, refrain from throwing objects into the water, and do not wash items in the lake. It is recommended to use a reliable vehicle, as some surrounding roads are gravel and network signals are weak. Plan your route in advance and download offline maps. Always take all trash away with you to protect the environment.

Lake Manasarovar, situated in Burang County, Ngari Prefecture, Tibet, lies at an altitude of 4,588 meters, making it one of the world's highest freshwater lakes and earning it the title "Mother of Holy Lakes". Covering an area of 412 square kilometers with a maximum depth of 81.8 meters, it boasts exceptional water clarity, ranking as China's most transparent freshwater lake. Its name, meaning "Eternal Unvanquished Turquoise Lake" in Tibetan, commemorates an 11th-century religious victory of Buddhism over Bonpo near its shores. Revered as a sacred site by Tibetan Buddhism, Hinduism, and Bon, the lake is believed to purify spiritual defilements; its perimeter features eight temples and "Four Bathing Gates," attracting pilgrims for millennia-old circumambulation rituals. As the source of four major Asian rivers (Indus, Sutlej, Brahmaputra, and Karnali), it was designated a national nature reserve in 2017, highlighting its ecological and cultural significance.
