The ticket office at the station typically operates from 06:00 to 23:00 daily. Arrive at the station at least one hour before departure to allow sufficient time for security checks, boarding procedures, and acclimatization to the high-altitude environment. The station sits at an elevation of approximately 3,836 meters; move slowly to minimize the risk of acute altitude sickness. Safeguard your belongings and identification documents, and cooperate fully with all security inspections. Maintain public order inside and outside the station, and avoid running or making excessive noise. Note that some trains may only stop briefly at Shigatse, so pay close attention to station announcements and schedules to avoid missing your train.
